Marilyn Okowa-Daramola Wins APC Ticket for Ika North-East Assembly Seat

Barrister Marilyn Okowa-Daramola has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ika North-East Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Marilyn secured the party’s ticket during the APC state assembly primaries conducted across Delta State this week after scaling through the party’s screening process alongside other aspirants.

A lawyer and politician, Marilyn is the daughter of former Delta State Governor and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

She first entered the political scene in 2022 when she emerged unopposed as the PDP candidate for the Ika North-East Constituency seat ahead of the 2023 Delta State House of Assembly election.

Her emergence in the APC primaries follows the recent political realignments in Delta State, including the defection of key political figures from the PDP to the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Marilyn’s political activities have largely been centered in Ika North-East Local Government Area, where she has maintained involvement in grassroots political mobilization and party activities within the constituency.

The APC primaries in Delta State produced candidates for state assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats ahead of the next general elections.
