Women Who Won Primaries: Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu Wins APC Ticket for Ethiope Federal Constituency

Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ethiope East/Ethiope West Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections in Delta State.

Ibori-Suenu secured the party’s ticket during the APC House of Representatives primaries conducted in Delta State this week, paving the way for her re-election bid to the National Assembly.

The lawmaker currently represents Ethiope East/Ethiope West Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives after first winning the seat during the 2023 general elections under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Born on May 4, 1980, Erhiatake is the daughter of former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori. She officially defected from the PDP to the APC in 2024 alongside other lawmakers from Delta State amid shifting political alignments in the state.

Since joining the APC, she has remained active in party affairs and constituency mobilization across Ethiope East and Ethiope West local government areas. She also participated in the party’s congress and reconciliation activities in Delta State ahead of the primaries.

Her emergence as APC candidate comes as political parties in Delta State conclude their primaries for National Assembly and state assembly positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
