Hajja Fati Kakenna has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kukawa/Abadam/Mobbar/Guzamala Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections in Borno State.
Kakenna secured victory during the APC House of Representatives primaries conducted in Borno State, emerging as the party’s flag bearer for the constituency after polling the highest number of delegate votes in the exercise.
A longstanding member of the APC in Borno State, Hajja Fati Kakenna has remained active in grassroots mobilization, humanitarian outreach and party activities across the northern part of the state, particularly in communities affected by insurgency and displacement.
Her political involvement in the constituency has focused largely on advocacy for women, internally displaced persons (IDPs), youth support programmes and access to education in vulnerable communities within Kukawa, Abadam, Mobbar and Guzamala local government areas.
Party stakeholders in the constituency described her emergence as the outcome of sustained grassroots engagement and years of political participation within the APC structure in Borno State.
The Kukawa/Abadam/Mobbar/Guzamala Federal Constituency remains one of the most security-challenged areas in Borno State due to years of insurgency, displacement and humanitarian crises, making representation and reconstruction issues central to political campaigns in the area.
Supporters of Kakenna have pointed to her long-standing community engagement, humanitarian activities and accessibility within the constituency as factors that contributed to her victory in the primaries.
Her emergence adds to the growing number of women who secured party tickets during the ongoing APC primaries across the country ahead of the 2027 elections.
